At Essex Glamping We have carefully selected our accomodation with our customers comfort in mind. We are passionate about the parks biodiversity and ecological impacts and have chosen to locate our accomodation “off grid”.
The location provides magnificent views across the park and Thames Estuary. By choosing to locate our accomodation off grid, means we have been creative and have crafted our own water provision to each tent and ensured adequate cooking facilities are in place.
We believe the adaptions we have made to our accomodation provide you with the ultimate glamping and camping experience but at the same time we’ve been extremely careful to protect our environment and wildlife habitats. We aim to provide a low impact, sustainable and eco-friendly camp site; with lots of of peace & quiet, for people who are looking for a real back to nature glamping & camping experience. Our safari tents provide comfortable accommodation to give you a home from home experience as well as providing you with an element of rural camping. Each of our safari tents can accommodate up to 6 persons. We have a purpose built toilet block and shower facilities which is a short walk from the accommodation. We also provide composting toilets on both the Hadleigh Park and Rare Breeds site.
Our kitchen areas offer water tanks, for washing up and ample crockery, cutlery and cooking facilities with integrated gas hob, so if you fancy cooking a nice meal and dining alfresco style on the veranda then you’re in the right place. Our water system (cold only) is off grid and water will need to be filled as and when you need it, water can be heated via heated water from the kettle. We do not have fridges as we are off grid, so we do suggest you bring a cool box.
Our safari tents are all named after the local wildlife you’ll see around the park, we have Badger, Squirrel, Fox and Rabbit, Woodpecker & Deer. (Hadleigh Park) and Blossom, Sunflowe, Daffodil & Daisy on the Rare Breeds site. Our living areas come with comfortable sofa, cushions and dining table and chairs and offers a comfortable place for a relaxing get away. At night you can enjoy the great outdoors and chill around the fire pit and stargaze the night away roasting marshmallows with the kids and soaking up the glamping and camping experience. You may also take a moment to look out for the endless wildlife that exists on the park, from your run of the mill rabbits and normal woodland birds to badgers roaming at night. To enjoy the glamping and camping experience, we have created a simple checklist of what we will provide.
We will provide one double bed in and two bunk beds which sleep up to six guests. All beds have comfortable mattresses and you are assured of a comfy night’s sleep preparing you for the next day’s activities, we will also provide duvets but you will need to bring (bed linen for a double bed and four singles). We will also provide all kitchen utensils for cooking, gas hob, pots & pans crockery and cutlery along with a few home from home comforts.
All our safari tents are semi off grid and have no electricity, however lighting is in the form of solar lighting and this provides ample lighting to your tent throughout the evening. We do have facilities to be able to charge mobile phones should you require it. As our tents are located off grid, the site can become quite dark in the evening and although the solar lighting is adequate, you may need to bring torches for moving around the site.
Please Note, we do accept dogs on the Hadleigh Park site but not the Rare Breeds site. 1 dog per booking only and are charged at £10.
